Hello and Greetings!

Not a newbie; but new to the forum. I was cutting laquer dubs back in the 80's on an Allied lathe with Grampian Type D cutter.
I'm beginning to get the ich again. I don't have the lathe anymore; but I still have the cutterhead.
I'm an automation engineer, and have two PLC's (A/B Rockwell SLC 500) that I intend to automate the new cutting system when I
aquire another lathe. Thinking Prest 6 or 8 would be a nice place to start.

The other PLC I may sell or trade for components for the cutting system, I don't know yet...

Anyway - love the forum and look forward to chiming in with all of you in the near future.

Cheers and belated Happy New Year!

-Jeff

Hi!

Welcome to the forum!

You'll find it's a bit quiet around here compared to other forums, but people are helpful, and if you have specific questions they respond fairly quickly.

Also. Pictures. People love pictures. Show us your cutter head.

An automation engineer? You should build your own press! Vinyl pressing is making a comeback after all!

Thanks for the warm welcome! OK - pictures. I have some shots of my system I can scan in. There are close-ups of the cutter head there.
