PETG suppliers in the USA? ( Diamond / Myshank style cutting)

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

PETG suppliers in the USA? ( Diamond / Myshank style cutting)

Hi guys

so, maybe i have been behind or this is redundant post - i havent been cutting for couple of years but looking to get the lathes rolling again - maybe things have changed lately

But I want to find PETG blanks in the USA. I tried from Blanq one time but the site is shut down and we didn't work well with owner anyhow

The shipping prices are just too outrageous to get discs shipped in from europe, then all this talk of tariffs etc ....

myshank is great for diamonds , i just cant afford to keep prices low with those radically high shipping fees

thanks

It’s easy to source transparent PETG if you can get them cut yourself. Colour PETG is usually 3 or 5 tonne minimum.

If happy with transparent contact your local plastic supplier they might even be able to cut them for you.

For a while I was just sourcing 4'x8' sheets of PETG from a local plastics supplier and using a laser cutter to make my own ... *shrug* ... as spinnertownblanks said, sometimes you can even get them to cut it for you.

We have sorted it so that our blanks will be available in the US via a distributer, we will put out full info in the near future. Hopefully this will help make it a little easier for you sourcing colour PETG.

Jumping in to say you don't even necessarily need to cut the discs yourself, depending on what's available in your area. I use a local CNC company who orders the plastic sheets and cuts the discs from a template I send them: everything from discs to squares to pumpkin-shaped records to center holes. They're only about a 15 minute drive from my house (one of the perks of living in a large city!), so getting my discs made up is easy as could be. Most companies could create templates for you based on your specifications if you don't have the know-how or software to make them yourself.

(Shout-out to CNC Philly https://www.cncphilly.com/, anyone looking to get their discs made in the Philadelphia area, these guys are already well-versed in it because of how many orders I've put in over the years, LOL!)

Hi! I just came across your post.
I work for Lathe Cut Blanks, and we sell PETG blanks in different sizes: 12", 10", 7", and 5".
We're located in North America, so we can ship to the USA and Canada without exorbitant shipping prices. Despite the current tariff situation, we can still ship from the US or Canada without complications.

Let me know if you would like to receive a free 7" sample. Send me an email with your shipping information, and we'll get started!
We also offer sample packs so you can try out all our sizes.
We would be pleased to partner with you on your project.

Let's keep in touch!
