The thing is, making a styli yourself could be the very issue you are having, so it makes sense to test a readily available professional made one, learn the craft, and then work on making styli yourself, it might make things work way better for you As Displacedsnail mentioned, something like that would work for now to get you going, and cheap.

Dear trolls , happy again today

I ve made a few test , few needles
Concentrate on 90 dg angle, well sharpened, diamond paste polished
I made them long so they increased the head angle

Now i know that my lathe works better with less weight, the problem is my platter ,there are plots wirh support blank so when there is too much weich the head push down the blank between the plots , i have to fix that first

I ve also made test , silent and when silent OK ,go with sound , vinyl to vinyl

Hello trolls, different yesterday and today. I calibrated myself on basic values, weight 40g, sharpening angle 90 degrees, Zippo gasoline. I have a silent test OK with tracking OK but as soon as I put sound, treated for cutting it is bad, while in direct vinyl to vinyl test it is good... so several tracks I must first reduce the games in my system, then remove my external sound card and determine the frequency response of my head, it seems too powerful to me!?, as piaptik said the learning curve is steep...

It might be an interesting idea, can someone in Europe sell me an embossed disc, so I can test it on my turntable, look at it with a magnifying glass and have a basis for comparison?

I can send you a dozen DVDs, CDs embossed with Genesis Bible recordings with a diamond in polycarbonate and additionally a head for embossing these discs or other materials, all you have to do is give me the shipping address. I will be on vacation abroad in Germany, I will send the parcel from Frankfurt to France. I will send it to you for free, including shipping, all you have to do is compensate the case for The society lathe secret trolls, let's say $50 by paying to Donate the owner of this site [with a "note from super zdenec". The head that I will send you is a copy of the original German heads SX68, SX74 etc., I bought it at the market from some granny, it was damaged, we repaired it to the correct state, proper operation and it is in our opinion efficient and records quite well, we do not need it so I will give it to you for free, because currently we are making much faster and more efficient wired cutting heads and we have started testing wireless heads with their own power supply in our laboratory, [you have probably seen my films and recordings]. I see a diamond on your hand, we tested such diamonds using them for pressing in various materials, they are not suitable for cutting because they do not have a mirror of attack on the material, I will mount a diamond knife to the head that I will send you [these are diamonds, artificial diamonds, quite nicely cut with a brilliant cut, but you need a lot of them to get the right cut of the blade within 2-4 microns, the edges of these diamonds are often too sharp, so then it is enough to record, press something on a mirror plate made of brass or copper and then they will polish beautifully, but you have to press for at least an hour to achieve the required effect of smoothness of this diamond, remember that the blade is hard, but also very brittle and can easily break at the impact limit for diamonds. brilliant 1,2mm https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3E3tzIMhHKE

in fact they are small sapphires which only cost me a few euros, I will see if I can have fun with them, if it is a failure it will not be a big waste of money
