Cut head
Hello!
Just getting into this and I need to get my hands on a cut head. Mono is fine to begin with. My plan is to cut in PETG with a heated stylus. Reasonable price/performance as this is just to see if I can get things going. Need advice on stylus too.
What should I look for?
Best regards, Jonas

Re: Cut head
I really hate suggesting ebay because its turned into mos eisley, a hive of scum and villanry. Which is difficult for me to say because I actually had faith in it not to long ago. But thats a story for another time.
There are currently a few presto horseshoe style mono heads in the 6-700$ dollar range and one webster for 400ish. The presto's are going to be way better then the webster. But you can mod the webster to give listenable results. Keyword being mod for listenable results. Its going to sound awful out of the box. A beat up presto will still destroy a webster
I'm also betting all those ebay heads have an account here as well.

Re: Cut head
Sorry for late answer.
leemichael, what stops your mono head from being used for cutting instead of embossing?
I will check this out tonight.

Re: Cut head
Embossing mono head does not have stylus Heat and the stylus holder is designed for embossing stylus.
Diamond mono head has stylus Heat and accepts 320/340 stylus which is the stylus used by most stereo heads, Nebula, Nimbus, T560, Caruso, SC-99, SX 74, Knightingale etc
